Enjoying a day trip from Fez to explore the UNESCO-listed Volubilis, an ancient Roman city, and the imperial city of Meknes. Discover Roman ruins, historical landmarks like Bab Mansour, and cultural sites including the plaza of Lehdim and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Enjoy lunch in Volubilis before returning to Fez in the evening.
DAY TRIP ITINERARY
After your breakfast in hotel/riad, our wonderful one-day tour from Fez is going to start towards visiting the Volubilis site, the Roman ruins. Another UNESCO World Heritage Site, Volubilis is one of the largest and most important archaeological sites in Morocco, built-in a fertile agricultural area and developed from the 3rd century BC. Afterward, we will enjoy lunch in this beautiful city.
Next, we will continue towards the city of Meknes, where you will see the famous historical gate of Bab Mansour, one of the grandest gates in Morocco. You will also visit the second largest plaza in Morocco after Marrakech’s Jamaa El-Fna, the plaza of Lehdim, and explore the Basin of Sahrij Souani and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After visiting Meknes, we will drive back to Fez.
