Overview
A day trip from Marrakech to Aït Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate takes you through the stunning landscapes of the Atlas Mountains. Departing early in the morning, you’ll drive along the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying breathtaking views. Your first stop is Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its iconic clay kasbahs and ancient architecture, where you can stroll through the village and take in the stunning scenery. Afterward, head to Ouarzazate, often dubbed the “Gateway to the Sahara,” where you can visit the impressive Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Film Studios, where many famous movies were filmed. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before exploring the surrounding area, then return to Marrakech in the evening, filled with memories of Morocco’s rich history and captivating landscapes.
DAY TRIP ITINERARY
Our excursion is going to start from your accommodation in Marrakech towards some of Morocco’s unique destinations, but first you are going to experience the beauty of Atlas mountains via the road of Tizi N’tichka the highest road in Morocco with an altitude of 2260, offering you charming views as far as the eye can admire, valleys, oasis, mountains, and Berber village. To arrive at the famous Kasbah of Ait-Ben-Hadou, a world Heritage site which was a part of many universal films such as « Gladiator ». and was location for one the most important families in Morocco between the 16th and 17th century, El glaoui’s family.
Afterwards we will continue towards to Ouarzazate the city that attracted with her unique landscapes many producers to give it a part in the film, with her biggest film studios in Morocco. And of course the famous Kasbah of Taourirte.
In the afternoon we get back to Marrakech, where our services are going to end there.
